About the brand

Our spirit flows from a spring house, built in 1909, at Maryland’s Sagamore Farm – naturally filtered spring water, fed from a limestone aquifer. The same water that fuels our champion thoroughbreds also cuts the rich spice of our rye, creating a spirit as revolutionary as America’s risk-takers and history-makers. Our story is one of passion, of old meeting new, and crafting a timeless American whiskey. The story of Baltimore, Maryland’s, new Sagamore Spirit distillery, which opened to the public a few weeks back, is in part the story of its founder, billionaire and CEO of Under Armour Kevin Plank. Some time ago, Plank decided he wanted to make whiskey influenced by the water from his Sagamore Farm.

Tasting Notes

Nose

The aromas are definitely Rye-like with bold notes of cinnamon crumb-cake, apricot, and menthol with a hint of Cognac-like florals.

Taste

With just a drop of water the flavors open up with autumn fruits, pecan pralines, and toasted wood.

The finish is long with lingering Rye spice and toffee notes.
