Ambhar Anejo tequila is the premium, "aged" expression from the label. The spirit is aged in American oak for at least 2 years before bottling, giving the tequila a tan, whiskey-like color and nose.The 2012 Beverage Testing Institute picked up on the long aging calling it "Very woody" and advised it finishes strong.
It was in 1885, when the descendants of Don Antonio Faustino de Aceves Casillas built the “old Hacienda La Capilla”. Since those days, the growing of agave has been its core business. Don Antonio Aceves, better known as “Amo Aceves” was the founder of Capilla de Guadalupe, named for the town chapel, built in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Capilla de Guadalupe, 2020 meters above sea level, in the heart of Jalisco Highs, rests under the shade of the Cerro Gordo, providing excellent conditions for the growing of agave, including moderate climate and volcanic ground.
