Dubbing it their ‘Birthday Bourbon’, this year’s edition (2021) certainly doesn’t disappoint. And because it’s a once a year event – you either grab a bottle now or never again! The nose is a gift in and of itself with hues of sugar coated fruit along with a slightly medicinal vibe of cherry flavored cough syrup, baked oak planks, and fresh out of the oven homemade bread. The palate carries over the fruit forward aroma with bites of red fruit baked in brown sugar along with freshly harvested vanilla bean and dark cherry jam over hewn wood and delicately sweet bites of warm cookies. This party in a mouth finishes with a confetti-like splash of dry oak chips with just a touch of strawberry candy and more cherry coated in cinnamon.
